5月2日、南大西洋上を航行中のクルーズ船「ＭＶホンディウス」でハンタウイルス感染症の発生がWHOに報告されました。
On May 2 2026, a cluster of passengers with severe respiratory illness aboard a cruise ship was reported to the World Health Organization. Three people, including a Dutch couple and a German passenger, died following a hantavirus outbreak on the MV Hondius cruise ship. The Dutch wife tested positive for the virus.

About 150 passengers and crew from 28 countries are reported to have initially been aboard the vessel, but dozens disembarked on the island of St Helena on 24 April. Health authorities are racing to trace dozens of people who have recently disembarked from the Dutch vessel.
