
原爆都市広島で、G7が開催され、首脳らがはじめて原爆資料館を訪問しました。
Amid tight security, Group of Seven leaders made an unprecedented visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum in the atomic-bombed city of Hiroshima.

An estimated 60,000 to 80,000 people died instantly, but by the end of the year, the death toll had risen to 140,000 as more succumbed to burns and illnesses caused by exposure to radiation.

The visit, the brainchild of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, saw the heads of the G7 nations and the European Union lay wreaths at the cenotaph for victims of the atomic bomb.

原爆資料館には、原爆と余波のむごたらしさを思い起こさせる痛ましい展示があります。
The Peace Memorial Museum holds about 100,000 relics, including burned and tattered clothing and charred lunch boxes. Leaders viewed some of the museum’s harrowing exhibits, graphic reminders of the attack and its gruesome aftermath.

And his guest list for Hiroshima reflects these attempts to woo what many call the "Global South" - a term used for developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, all of whom have complex political and economic ties to both Russia and China.
