26年前の殺人事件容疑者（安福久美子）が、DNAサンプル提供に応じた後、自首してきました。
The police had questioned Kumiko Yasufuku several times since August and asked her to voluntarily submit a DNA sample. Although she initially refused, she complied and turned herself in to the Nishi Police Station hours later.

1999年11月13日名古屋市西区のアパートで高羽奈美子さん(当時32)が首などを複数回刺されたことによる失血死で発見。そばには、2歳の一人息子の航平さんが無傷で座っていました。
Yasufuku is suspected of stabbing Takaba multiple times, causing her to bleed to death. Takaba was found collapsed in the hallway, while her 2-year-old son was discovered unharmed in the apartment.

アパートに犯人の血痕が残っていると知り、犯罪現場を保存するため夫の高羽悟さんは26年間アパートを借り続けました。
The victim’s husband (69) moved with his son to a nearby house shortly after the incident, but kept the lease on the apartment where the crime occurred for 26 years to preserve the perpetrator’s bloodstains near the entrance. It is reported that the rent he has paid so far exceeds 20 million yen.

安福と奈美子さんの間の接点はありませんが、安福は奈美子さんの夫の高校の同級生でした。
Investigation has confirmed that there were no direct ties or interactions between Yasufuku and the victim. However, she and the victim’s husband belonged to the same athletic club in high school and saw each other almost every day.
容疑者は悟さんに好意を寄せていたといいます。
The victim’s husband said, “Yasufuku showed interest in me in high school, such as giving me chocolate and a letter on Valentine’s Day,” and, “In college, she came to watch my match, and I once told her ‘It’s difficult if you come to practice,’ and I remember she cried then.”
事件の5カ月前に二人は同窓会で再会。仕事と家庭の両立で忙しいという安福に、『頑張ってね』と言ったそうです。
The two had no contact afterward, but they met again at a high school reunion five months before the incident. At the time, Yasufuku said, “It’s hard juggling work and housework,” and the victim’s husband recalled that his words “Hang in there” were their last conversation.

悟さんが代表理事を務めた殺人事件被害者遺族の会『宙の会』等の活動で、2010年殺人罪の時効が廃止となりました。
