パンダ返還

1972年、日中国交正常化の一ヶ月後、日本に初めてのパンダが来日。以降、大きな経済効果を生みだしてきました。

Ueno Zoo received its first pandas in 1972, a month after Tokyo and Beijing normalized diplomatic relations.

Since the first black-and-white animal arrived in Japan in 1972 to commemorate the normalization of diplomatic ties, Chinese pandas have become beloved by the Japanese public, bringing major economic benefits as tourist attractions.

中国は、パンダは親善を伝える大使だと言いますが、あくまでも貸与であり、日本で生まれた子パンダも所有権は中国です。

China has engaged in "panda diplomacy" not only with Japan but also with other countries by gifting the animals. China said giant pandas are “friendly ambassadors” conveying the goodwill of the Chinese people. However, Beijing maintains ownership over them and any cubs they produce.

神戸王子動物園のタンタン『神戸のお嬢様』は亡くなっても、剥製と骨格標本で中国に戻されました。

Tantan passed away on March 31, 2024.　The late panda was returned to China as both a taxidermy and skeletal specimen. (6/26)

和歌山アドベンチャーワールドのパンダ4頭の返還前、一目見ようと多くの人が詰めかけて、涙の別れを告げました。

Thousands of fans bid a teary farewell Friday to a family of four giant pandas at a zoo in Japan’s coastal town of Shirahama as the animals made their last public appearance before their return to China.

Around 3,000 visitors flocked to the Adventure World theme park to get a last glimpse of the beloved animals. Many rushed straight to the panda exhibit zone, calling out the names of their favorites.
