警視庁は、大規模TOEICカンニングの中心人物とみられる中国人大学院生、王立坤容疑者（27）を逮捕しました。
Tokyo police have arrested a Chinese graduate student who is believed to be a central figure in widespread cheating on the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).

他人の名前で複数回受験をしていた容疑者ですが、最初の逮捕容疑は建造物侵入です。
The Metropolitan Police Department said the suspect allegedly tried to take the TOEIC at a venue in Tokyo under a different person's name. The suspect, in a conspiracy with others, entered the venue at 2:50 p.m. on May 18 without a legitimate reason. Wang was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

容疑者のマスクの内側には小型マイクが隠されていました。試験中に中国語でつぶやく声がするという報告も以前からありました。
He hid the microphone behind a facemask. The exam organizers had earlier told police that one test-taker was muttering in Chinese at the exam venue. The MPD believes Wang was the mutterer who was revealing correct answers to other Chinese there.

高スコアの中国人が不自然に増加したとの報告も。当日は受験者の3割が欠席で、不正試験は計画的だったとみられます。
The exam organizers had earlier told police that there had recently been an unusual increase in Chinese people scoring over 900 points (out of 990).
Since June last year, a person believed to be the suspect has taken multiple TOEIC exams under a different name each time and received scores of 90% or more.
Police say that in the room where the suspect was scheduled to take the test, about 30 percent of the examinees did not show up.
その後、有印私文書偽造で書類送検されました。（6月6日には逮捕）
The Nogata Police Station referred Wang to prosecutors on May 20 on suspicion of counterfeiting private seals and documents through his impersonation of another test-taker.（5/20）

容疑者はアルバイトを探して関わったようですが、替え玉やカンニングを行う大規模な背景があるとされ、捜査が進行中です。
The suspect reportedly said he was looking for part-time work to gain money, and that he found this “job.” Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the exam-cheating job and who else was involved.
日本では、2022年大学共通入学テストの時に、日本人女子学生によるスマホを使ったカンニング事件がありました。その時は偽計業務妨害＝fraudulent obstruction of businessで保護観察＝probation処分でした。
